The meter

How credits work

Credits are the fuel for work Ounie does for you. Charging is atomic — reserve, then settle or refund — and every row is tagged with the app and action that spent it.

  • Design passes and generated imagery
  • Auto-research and the feed your brain curates

Plans for power features and teams

Packs are the cheaper way to buy credits. A plan is for everything credits can't buy — unlimited brains, more storage, teammates, the API and MCP rails, the AI team — and it refills your wallet every month so you never think about topping up.

Why these apps

The apps are the product. Your brain is the edge.

Anyone can hand an agent a tool. Only these tools are built from knowledge you accumulated here — 32 of the 66 apps take a brain as input and cite the exact page they used.

  • Cited, not guessed

32 of the apps build from your brain and cite the exact page. “Not in your brain” stays an honest answer — apps don't fabricate.

  • Agents can feed it

Your assistant saves notes, links and finished outputs back over the same connection it calls apps through. Filing costs nothing.

  • It compounds

The longer a brain is fed, the better every app's output gets — which is the part a per-call competitor can't copy.

Feeding a brain is free on every plan — sources, notes, links and captures never cost credits. See what a brain does.

For autonomous agents

Pay per call, in USDC.

Call a paid action and you get an HTTP 402 back with machine-readable requirements. Your wallet signs, the call retries, the work runs. Nobody signs up for anything.

  1. CALLagent invokes a paid action
  2. 402requirements quoted, up to a cap
  3. SIGNwallet pays USDC on Base
  4. SETTLEresult returns · thin settles zero
  • No account, no API key
  • USDC on Base, settled per call
  • “Up to” quotes — never above the cap
  • Thin results settle zero

65 apps ship a pay-per-call endpoint today. Each action computes its own price from the payload, so nothing is quoted here that the endpoint wouldn't quote you itself.

Questions

Pricing questions

How does pricing work, in one paragraph?

You buy credits and spend them on whatever you want. One wallet covers every app, credits never expire, and there's nothing to cancel — that's the whole model, and packs are the cheapest way to buy them. A plan is the second thing, not the first: it adds what credits can't buy (unlimited brains, more storage, teammates, the API and MCP rails) and refills your wallet every month so you don't have to think about it. The third way is for software: an autonomous agent can call a paid endpoint with no account and no API key, get an HTTP 402 back with machine-readable payment requirements, and settle in USDC on Base.

Is Ounie really free to start?

Yes. One brain is free forever with no credit card: upload sources, build the cited wiki and knowledge graph, ask questions from a bank of 1,000 that never expire, publish a public page, and run unlimited website widgets. Paid plans add the monthly credits that app runs draw from, plus more brains, sources and storage.

Do credits really never expire?

Yes, and there is no path by which they could. Credits you bought sit in your wallet until you spend them — no clock, no annual sweep, no forfeiture if you cancel a plan or go quiet for a year. The one pool that does reset is a subscription's monthly allowance, which is granted fresh on renewal and doesn't roll over; spending always draws that expiring allowance first, precisely so a purchased credit is never the one that goes to waste.

What's auto-refill?

An optional setting on your wallet, off unless you turn it on: when your balance drops below a threshold you choose, we buy the pack you picked again and charge the card on file. You set a cap on how many refills can happen in a month, every refill shows up in your ledger as an ordinary pack purchase with a receipt, and you can switch it off at any time. It is not a subscription — nothing recurs on a date, and nothing is charged unless your balance actually runs low.

How do the plans differ?

By what they unlock, not by the credit rate — packs are the cheaper way to buy credits, and a plan never claims otherwise. Free is one brain to try everything. Pro ($12.99/mo, or $9.99/mo billed annually) is the personal tier: unlimited brains, 5,000 questions a month, and API & MCP access. Studio (from $50/mo) removes the “powered by Ounie” badge and unlocks the feed and the AI team. Team (from $300/mo) adds collaborators and shared brains. Enterprise adds SSO, audit logs, EU data residency and custom contracts. Every plan also refills a monthly credit allowance into the same wallet a pack tops up.

What are credits, and what uses them?

Credits are the universal currency across every app, the website widget beyond its included bundle, published sites, and paid brain listings. One wallet per account — there are no per-app plans or balances. Runs are charged server-side and atomically: reserve, then settle or refund. Packs never expire; a subscription's monthly allowance is granted fresh on renewal and is always spent first.

What doesn't use credits?

Asking your own brains — that's your plan's question quota (5,000/mo on Pro, 15,000 on Studio, 30,000 on Team, and a non-expiring 1,000-question bank on Free). So is your included widget-question bundle, editing your wiki, restyling, reverting and publishing a site, and swiping the feed. A thin result — an empty dataset, a failed render, or an honest “not in your brain” — costs nothing on either rail.

What if I run out of credits?

Buy a pack, or turn on auto-refill so it happens without you. No plan change is required and there's nothing to upgrade — a pack works identically on Free and on Team. Unused monthly allowance doesn't roll over, but everything you bought stays put.

What does an agent pay, exactly?

Paid actions quote an “up to” price in the 402 response: a heavy job settles higher than a light one, but never above the quote, so an agent can encode the ceiling before it spends. Empty or failed results settle zero. Paid actions and paid brains are also indexed in the x402 Bazaar so an agent can discover them without reading our docs.

Do I have to pay for setup?

No. There's no setup fee and no onboarding tier — you create a brain, point an agent at the gateway or open an app dashboard, and start. If you'd rather have it built for you, that's a separate service quoted per project rather than a line on this page.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Paid plans are month-to-month and you can cancel from your billing settings — you keep access through the end of the period, and your brains and sources stay intact when you return to the free plan.

Start free. Pay when it’s doing work.

One brain, no card, and the whole fleet to look through. Buy credits when you want the apps working — they never expire, so there is no rush and no wrong time.
